Abstract:

Since many years pavement engineers apply very simple statical models to analyze their specific problems. The development of numerical tools and easily available computer power make much more sophisticated approaches possible. Two representative problems are considered and analyzed with the use of advanced nonlinear dynamics models. The results are evaluated and compared with simple linear statical approaches.
