The Application of AI in Highway CAD System

Abstract:

In a conventional CAD System, the process for solving a certain particular engineering problem is fixed stationary in the program. As a result, the program is often modified to fit different requirements needed in solving diverse engineering problems. It is hindering the popularity and useability of the CAD system in highway design. To ameliorate this situation, the paper introduces the method of artificial intelligence (AI), by means of which, the solving strategies of those changeable and experimental engineering problems are separated out from the program and are managed individually. The integrated modular system which is controlled by a knowledge inference engine is set up.
