Abstract:

Once local goals and objectives for ground-water protection have been defined, wellhead protection areas delineated, sources of contamination inventoried and assessed, management techniques can be developed. Counties, cities and towns have many options available to manage existing sources of contamination and to ensure that future land use activities do not pose a threat to ground-water quality. Author describes how the ground-water management standards were developed and how they are enforced in this article.
