Abstract:

Juanita Creek, a small basin near Seattle that contains anadromous fish, was experiencing degradation due to urbanization. A detention pond and channel restoration improvements were constructed to rehabilitate the stream. One year after construction, some success is evident. Some application criteria and design improvements are proposed for similar projects.
