Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Structural Engineering in Natural Hazards Mitigation

Abstract:

Three common problems of prestressed concrete optimization, that involve only a single structural analysis and can readily be solved by available programs, are presented: 1. The problem of optimizing systems with uniform concrete dimensions that can be stated in an Explicit Nonlinear Programming (ENLP) form. 2. The problem of optimizing the prestressing force and tendon configuration for any given concrete dimensions that can be stated in a Linear Programming (LP) form. 3. The problem of optimizing only the concrete dimensions.
