Abstract:

General Physics Services Corporation (GPSC) of Columbia, Maryland has developed a device for the remote long-term monitoring of full scale structures, such as highway bridges. This patented system is called the Structural Monitoring System (STRUMS), and has been developed with the cooperation and support of the New York State Department of Transportation and Connecticut Department of Transportation over the past eight years. The system is in full-scale production and is currently installed and in daily use in several field locations.
