Abstract:

This paper presents and validates practical methods for flexural, shear and torsional analysis and design of fibrous reinforced concrete structural elements. The effects of both fiber reinforcement and conventional reinforcing bars are considered. Simple assumptions on stress distributions and the mechanisms of resistance against flexural, shear and torsional forces from the basis for the developed methods of structural analysis and design. These methods are verified in this paper using broad experimental results reported in the literature.
