Abstract:

The overall objective of the investigation is to study the behavior of a particular steel connection type, flush end plate steel connections, subjected to shear, axial forces, and possibly moment. As so far no guidelines for designing such connections exist, the engineer's judgment is used in proportioning the connection. First, an analytical study was conducted to classify the connection as simple, semi-rigid, or rigid.
