Abstract:

A numerical model has been developed for predicting the fire endurance of a single metal-plate-connected wood truss. Extensive component fire testing was conducted to develop the necessary models for thermal degradation of the wood members and connections. The model predictions agree well with existing ASTM E 119 assembly test data.
