Abstract:

In the latest revisions of the three major U.S. seismic codes (AISC, NEHRP, UBC) some requirements can be questioned because of limited knowledge. Confining attention to conventional kinds of steel framing, some of the unresolved or questionable issues are discussed in this paper.
