Abstract:

This paper presents preliminary results of ongoing research investigating the feasibility of steel eccentrically braced frames (EBFs) for seismic retrofit of reinforced concrete frames. The seismic behavior of a three story structure retrofitted with two EBF strengthening schemes is examined. Design implications are discussed.
