Abstract:

In this paper, two kinds of wind-excited limit states on a tall structure are investigated and corresponding formulae for the limit wind pressures are presented. In solving the wind-excited vibration of structure in limit state which is both random and nonlinear, a new stochastic linearization method based on energy proposed by author has also been adopted. Numerical computations of limit wind pressures for real structures show a good agreement with those obtained from actual record.
