Abstract:

The multi-investigator PRESS (Precast Seismic Structural Systems) research project requires an analysis tool that can be used to perform nonlinear seismic analyses of a wide variety of precast structural systems. Although there are several available computer programs for nonlinear structural analysis, none of these programs provides the needed flexibility or modelling features. To satisfy the need, extensions of the well-known DRAIN-2D computer program have been developed to serve as an 'analytical platform' for the project. This paper describes the features and capabilities of the programs.
