Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Microcomputers in Transportation

Abstract:

This paper outlines an innovative approach to automating the roadway design process by linking design and drafting with multiple software programs and taking advantage of the strengths of each. The integrated system was developed for design of the Denver International Airport terminal roadways system in which the design team developed the concept design and progressed to more than 460 final computer-aided drafting and design (CADD) plans in 11 months.
