Abstract:

Placing wire netting in thin shotcrete layers was found to be a difficult, dangerous and time-wasting method. Searching for other ways to reinforce the concrete, it has been found that cutting the wire net into small pieces and mixing it with the concrete was one possible method. There are many different methods of making steel fiber reinforced shotcrete, and the complex process of choosing one must include consideration of the facts about the conditions present in each special instance.
