Abstract:

The combination of single shell structures in tunnelling with the use of steel-fibre-reinforced concrete is decisively able to reduce the costs of tunnel projects. Several variants of structures are described and discussed. The influence of the steel-fibre-reinforced concrete concerning the static calculation is only considered in the proof of the serviceability. Experimental studies can verify that shear load bearing capacity is available only by the help of the roughness in the bond joint of the concretes of different ages.
