Abstract:

The DELVO system is a two component, nonchloride chemical system developed to control the dynamics of cement hydration. Concrete, treated with the DELVO system, can be kept in a plastic state for some days. By the addition of an activator, the hydration of the cement can be started again. The DELVO system can be used in shotcreting for dry mix and wet mix systems. Due to the dosage rate of the DELVO stabilizer the concrete can be 'set to sleep' so that a workability up to three days results. By the addition of the Activator S, hydration starts again and the rapid setting and strength development are similar to reference concrete without DELVO stabilizer.
