Abstract:

This paper describes an ongoing research project conducted by the University of Washington Department of Civil Engineering to develop design criteria for the Washington State Ferry System. These design criteria specify the approach velocity, and approach angle and berthing coefficients. No damage, repairable damage, and catastrophic damage type berthing events are considered.
