Abstract:

The Soil Conservation Service (SCS) Runoff Curve Number (RCN) procedure works well as a single event model to estimate design storm runoff volumes from a small agricultural watershed. In 1989, SCS met with Agricultural Research Service (ARS) scientists to discuss common hydrology and hydraulic concerns. As a result of this meeting, an ARS/SCS Runoff Curve Number Work Group was established. This paper describes the Work Group's plans and accomplishments.
