Abstract:

Structural systems are generally designed under safety, serviceability and economy requirements. The single objective optimal design problem of both deterministic and nondeterministic systems was well discussed in the literature. In general, a solution to this problem is unique and will not provide enough information for decision making in the design process. This paper provides the structural designer with a tool for solving multiobjective optimization problems in a nondeterministic framework.
