Abstract:

This paper discusses the use of stochastic linearization to non-degrading soils. First, the Bouc-Wen model parameters are reviewed. Monte Carlo simulation results are compared with the results based upon Wen-Baber approach in which the parameter n is less than 1. The implications of the difference in an endocronic model and a kinematic work-hardening model is also touched upon.
