Abstract:

A three-year, industry-sponsored effort has resulted in the development of a reliability-based, load and resistance factor design (LRFD) Specification for wood construction. Improvements in design methodology have been incorporated into the Specification. Now undergoing Joint ASCE/Industry Standards Committee review, the Specification is expected to be available for use in the near future. Results are presented for the developed design methodology.
