Abstract:
One of Hydro-Quebec concerns is to operate its installations so as to satisfy the operating constraints. This paper describes a mathematical tool that enables the utility company to state that each of the operating constraints is met with a certain preestablished reliability level. Two parts of this tool - namely, the weekly partial multivariate stochastic streamflow generator and the deterministic simulator - are elaborated. A case study is presented.
