Lunar-Based System to Supply Power to Earth: Summary of Concept, Benefits, and Development

by David R. Criswell, Univ of Houston, Houston, United States,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Engineering, Construction, and Operations in Space III

Abstract:

The Lunar Power System (LPS) is described, references are given to other published work, and possibilities for demonstrating LPS are outlined. Analyses indicate that LPS can provide inexpensive power to Earth and throughout large regions of the solar system. LPS can establish a two-planet economy. The Earth-moon economy would enable permanent habitation of the Solar System.
