Developments of Modelling Software for Civil Engineers

by J. C. M. Dijkzeul, Information Systems for Civil, Engineering and Environment, Rijswijk, Netherlands,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Estuarine and Coastal Modeling

Abstract:

The paper describes some of the recent problems in the development of software tools for civil engineers, especially software for hydrodynamic and water quality simulations for environmental problems. The outline of the basis of a long term development of successful numerical models, to be used by civil engineers at the Dutch Rijkswaterstaat, without the intervention of mathematicians or computer experts, is presented.
