Abstract:

A variety of formats for the display of velocity vector components are presented and assessed. The effective transmittal of information to the viewer is the criterion emphasized. The special challenges introduced by the complexity of estuarine flow fields are discussed. A method for gaining insight into model validation through graphic manipulation is suggested.
