Abstract:

As the cost of infrastructure improvements continue to spiral upward local and state governments are finding it more difficult to provide for increases in traffic volumes due to growth in development. One method of quantifying this impact is by using the Sub-Area Extraction feature of the TRANPLAN computer Model. Information concerning the proposed development is included, and the model is redefined with the development in place. It is now possible to assess the impact which the development will have on the existing trasportation infrastructure.
