Altering the Solar System?Landing the Moon, Mars or Venus on the Earth?Changing the Orbit, the Tilt and the Size of the Planet Earth

by Alexander Abian, Iowa State Univ, Ames, United States,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Engineering, Construction, and Operations in Space III

Abstract:

It is proposed to radically change the hitherto prevailing mindset of the people (and especially of the scientists) by stressing that the present setup of the 5 billion year old Orbit, the Tilt and the Size of the planet Earth, and, indeed, the present setup of our entire Solar System need not necessarily be the only possible Cosmic scenario for sustaining Life on the planet Earth. In fact, judicious alterations of these items could greatly improve the quality of human life, augment considerably the Size of the planet Earth and ameliorate the ecology of our entire Solar System.
