Abstract:

In a time when space projects are limited by the scarcity of public funding it is reasonable to try to finance and operate them with the help of the private sector. An example to follow could be the financing of large scale projects on Earth, such as the Channel Tunnel. This paper will show that space and terrestrial infrastructure are of same nature and will elaborate on how to build financial packages that include a mix of funds from government, international bodies, private investors and the general public.
