Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Engineering Mechanics

Abstract:

Dimensionally reduced p-version finite elements based on higher order theory are developed for modeling laminated composite plates and shells in the presence of cracks, notches, and delaminations. The C° displacement fields are expressed as the product of two functions based on Legendre polynomials. The modeling strategies in the presence of flaws are discussed.
