Abstract:
Dimensionally reduced p-version finite elements based on higher order theory are developed for modeling laminated composite plates and shells in the presence of cracks, notches, and delaminations. The C? displacement fields are expressed as the product of two functions based on Legendre polynomials. The modeling strategies in the presence of flaws are discussed.
