A simple and accurate scheme for determining the coordinates of node points located within the interior of planer regions discretized with quadrilateral elements is described. A novel feature of this scheme is its similarity to the 'direct stiffness' approach to finite element analyses. As such, it can easily be implemented into programs written to perform such analyses.
