Abstract:

In this paper, the modelling of crack bridging stress vs crack opening (?-?) relation of ductile fiber brittle matrix composite in terms of its microscopic parameters is described. Parametric Studies are carried out to investigate the effects of various micro-parameters on the ?-? relation. Guidelines for the choice of micro-parameters in the design of composites are then proposed.
