Shear Flow Between Walls in Relative Motion

by H. J. Leutheusser, Univ of Toronto, Toronto, Canada,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Engineering Mechanics

Abstract:

The paper reports on experiments on Couette flow, i.e., the shear-induced flow between surfaces which are in motion relative to each other. The novel aspect of the work is the appearance of surface roughness in the range of independent experimental variables for both rotary and plane Couette flow.
