Abstract:

The paper refers to the numerical simulation of turbulent wind conditions around an arbitrarily-shaped building composed of two rectangular blocks. The time-averaged Navier-Stokes equations and the k-? turbulence model are used for the mathematical formulation. Computed pressures have been compared with experimental data for a low-rise stepped-roof building (L-shaped in cross-section) for several wind directions. Good agreement is generally found for wind perpendicular to the wall.
