Abstract:

A unique combination of image histogram and projection histogram are employed to classify major distress types on flexible pavement. This technique has taken into account the presence of non-distress objects which include road markings, oil stains, and tire marks on the pavement surfaces. It has successfully separated the non-distress objects from crackings hence increasing the percent accuracy of the evaluation algorithm.
