Abstract:

This proceedings, Irrigation and Drainage, consists of papers presented at the National Conference on Irrigation and Drainage Engineering held in Honolulu, Hawaii, July 22-26, 1991. The conference featured thirty-three concurrent sessions and a poster session. There were a total of eight sessions on surface/ground water interaction covering such topics as: 1) Water quality, 2) vadose zone, 3) aquifer recharge and discharge, 4) geochemistry, and 5) computer models. Four sessions presented information on canal modeling while other sessions discussed such subjects as: 1) Agricultural water quality issues, 2) on-farm irrigation management, 3) hydrology in volcanic regions, and 4) the integration of drainage into irrigation design. This collection of papers enables engineers to focus on current and future major issues in irrigation and drainage.
