Abstract:

In order to investigate the dependence of gas transfer coefficients on temperature under conditions of low surface renewal rates, laboratory experiments were conducted using simultaneous measurements of oxygen and krypton-85 transfer. The literature showing decreasing gas transfer coefficients were evaluated. It is concluded that, contrary to some reports, gas transfer coefficients increase with increasing temperature under conditions of low turbulence.
