Abstract:
The ASCE Task Committee on 'Irrigation Canal System Hydraulic Modeling' was formed to evaluate existing canal unsteady flow models (computer programs) and to provide guidance to potential users on the use and limitations of these models. Model evaluation is intended to describe each program's capabilities, application, and usefulness. This paper presents and organizes criteria for evaluating and comparing canal hydraulic models.
