Abstract:

A tracer study was performed with a fluorescent dye, Rhodamine WT, to determine the actual disinfectant contact time for the 36-mgd Courtney Bend Water Treatment Plant near Independence, Missouri, The results indicated that the plant will be in compliance with the C*t requirement of the Surface Water Treatment Rule (SWTR) and an addition of settling basin would not be required for the latest 6-mgd expansion of the plant.
