Abstract:

The conflicting requirements of the EPA and NRC for mixed waste disposal are reviewed. The conceptual design issued by these organizations is described in terms of its essential features. The intended Texas approach to mixed waste disposal is described. The Texas mixed waste disposal unit design is presented and the unique features added to satisfy the objectives of both set of regulations are described.
