Abstract:

Influence of the choice of measures of stress and deformation upon the representation of constitutive relations for elasto-plastic solids undergoing finite deformation is discussed. The paper describes a representation of elasto-plastic behavior under large deformation based on a Lagrangian description for history of configurations along with Eulerian description for constitutive equations. The incremental equation of motion is derived through the principle of virtual work stated in terms of Kirchhoff stress and Green strain.
