Abstract:

A semi-analytical finite element is presented for analyses of cracked reinforced concrete (RC) structures including bond action between rebar and concrete, and crack-face shear transfer. For simplicity of presentation, only crack formation normal to rebars under uniaxial loading and subsequent shear deformation are considered. The element performance is assessed by simulating tensile uniaxial strain loading and comparing the results with analytical solutions.
