Abstract:

This is about the developing of relationships for predicting the change of buckling loads of columns made of viscoelastic materials under different loads. When a columnlike structural member is subjected to the compressive stresses, the instability type of failure is to be expected. The assumptions made here are the same as the Euler elastic buckling except that the materials discussed are linear viscoelastic.
