Abstract:

The fully-transformed unsteady incompressible Navier-Stokes equations are solved numerically in a time-dependent boundary-fitted coordinate system. In addition, the complete viscous free-surface boundary conditions are specified at the exact free surface in the present study. The finite-analytic (FA) discretization formulation and the SIMPLER decoupling algorithm are utilized to obtain the time-accurate solutions through the iterative procedures. The viscous interaction of an obstacle ahead of a submerged intake structure below a free surface is then studied by this method.
