Stormwater/Wastewater Management: How an Application Can Drive a GIS

by Rex W. Cowden, Geographic Information Services, Dayton, United States,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Water Resources Planning and Management and Urban Water Resources

Abstract:

Decision makers are finding that a much-needed application may be the key that drives the creation of a city- or county-wide Geographic Information System (GIS). A start-up GIS developed in Cincinnati and Hamilton County, Ohio, was driven by the demand for a 100-year master plan for stormwater/wastewater management.
