Abstract:

This paper examines five GIS applications under development in two state agencies in Texas responsible for the management and regulation of water resources, response to and remediation of incidents which threaten this resource, and the funding of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. In addition, potential applications for water management planning are discussed. The utilization of GIS technology and some barriers to its implementation are examined.
