This paper reports on recent research to develop methods for accommodating uncertainty in designing hydraulic remediation systems for contaminated aquifers. The methods rely respectively on a new chance-constraint linear programming formulation and a neural network application. Results as application to a hypothetical polluted aquifer are presented.
