Abstract:

This paper presents the results of an analysis that was performed to predict the efficiency of removal for suspended sediments in storm runoff under existing conditions and under several practical retrofit alternatives. Retrofit alternatives addressed modifications in start and stop levels for operation of individual units in the battery of pumps, and the discharge rates that would be applied. In addition to evaluating the effect of operating changes on water quality control, the potential impact on the primary flood control objective was also evaluated by performing a flood risk analysis for each condition.
