Abstract:

Good quality water is a valuable resource that should be used wisely. It is necessary that water supply authorities develop water conservation plans. In order to develop a water conservation program best suited to a particular community, a methodology to estimate the effectiveness of various alternative programs is required. In this study a methodology and a computer program were developed to estimate the effectiveness of various water conservation programs. The methodology and the computer program were based on field data. The applications of the methodology are illustrated using examples.
