Abstract:

The Gravity Sewer Design Program Version 2.1 M (GSDP2M) performs the hydraulic design for a conventional gravity sanitary sewer network. GSDP2M is written in standard Fortran 77 for batch execution on IBM-compatible microcomputers. Given the plan layout and source distribution, GSDP2M calculates the design flow and specifies the commercially available diameter and invert elevations of each pipe according to traditional criteria. The program produces two heuristic designs: one which tends to minimize invert depths, and the second which tends to minimize pipe sizes. The engineer can select either or use them as a basis for futher refinement.
